Third Coast Golf Club

Chicagoland’s Premiere Touring Golf Club

What is Third Coast all about?

Of course, we’re all about golf & friendly competition. But in reality, we’re focused on spending time with friends, making new ones, and having a lot of fun. Our mantra is two-fold:

1) Kick back and have a good time.

2) Lead with honesty, trust, & respect.

  • We all have a passion for golf, but we understand and share the sentiment that golf is meant to be enjoyed.

Serious golf is not only for serious people. The stakes we play for aren’t worth getting upset over. Bad shots–and bad days– they happen, and we know it and accept it. We have fun, we drink beer, we listen to music, and we golf. We kick back and relax, together.

  • Nobody likes waiting on the tee. We’d go so far to say we all hate waiting on every hole. Everybody hates slow play. And so do we.

We don’t rush. We take our time over our shots, but we also don’t slow down play on the course. We play fast and we always keep pace of play.

  • The game of golf is old. O-L-D.

And in its 500-some-odd years of existence, it’s evolved quite a bit. And in our mind, that means it should continue to evolve. The feeling that is synonymous with golf–the stuffy, stodgy, pretentious golf is not the game we play.

Your background, the fact that your shirt is untucked, the music you’re blasting–it’s all good with us. Just as long as your not an asshole, and you’re looking to have fun, you’ll fit right in with Third Coast.

  • As a community, we lead with honesty, trust, and respect.

We are honest with ourselves and with others, leading with trust for the others around us.

We are always respectful. Respectful to the others around us. Respectful to the golf course, it’s staff, and it’s greens!

Golf is a game of rules. And as much as we tire of the old, stodgy ways of golf, we have to follow the rules. And we, as a club, do. We don’t tolerate cheating. Sorry, but you’ll have to leave the foot wedge at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This is a perk that's included with your TCGC membership. If you don't already have one, one will be provided by the CDGA when you sign up.

All of our individual stroke play events are handicapped. If you don’t have a handicap, you’ll play to a 0 until one is established. Once a handicap is established, you’ll play off that handicap.

  • The Club holds official golf tournaments about once a month. There are also random group outings that happen throughout the month.

We strongly encourage members to join up with fellow members on our Slack channel to schedule a round together when the Club isn't having a tournament.

Note: Members will receive an invite to the Club’s Slack channel after receiving approval to join the club.

  • We're happy to accommodate anyone that wants to play in one of our events but isn't a member. If you are a friend of a member or just joining because you'd like to be a part of a club, we'll allow you (1) round to experience the Club firsthand. After that, we ask that you join the Club before your second round.

We do ask that you give us plenty of advanced notice if you have a friend joining, so we can properly adjust for the correct number of tee times. We know how members enjoy playing with their friends, and we're all about growing the game. Just let us know who you'd prefer to play with, and we'll do our best to make sure you play together as many times as possible.

  • No! Definitely not.

You can attend as many or as little events / competitions as you’d like.

Although, to qualify for the club championship, you’ll have to play in 3 or more regular season competitions.

  • You are more than welcome to join the Club once the "season" has started. You will start with zero Lighthouse Cup points toward the Club Championship, but are eligible to start earning as soon as you're accepted.

The point structure is designed to reward those who play in as many tournaments as possible. The point breakdown can be found here.

  • The list of official tournaments and events is located here

  • There are plans in the works to provide golf trips for TCGC Members to bucket-list golf destinations starting in 2025.

  • We play rain, snow, or shine!

If the golf course is open and there are no obviously life-threatening weather events (e.g. tornados, lightning), we’re playing!
